Farm Scale Studies

The true test is real-world performance
Real farms. Real growers. Real-world performance.
At Crommelin AgriCoatings, we believe the true test of any agricultural technology is how it performs in the paddock. Alongside our independently managed research trials, we are conducting an expanding network of farm-scale validation trials with commercial grain growers across Western Australia and other Australian cropping regions. These trials allow us to evaluate our fertiliser coating technologies under the diverse soils, climates and management systems encountered by Australian farmers every season.
Our goal is simple: develop products that deliver consistent value where it matters most, on the farm.
Why Farm-Scale Trials Are Important
Scientific field trials are essential for demonstrating product efficacy, but commercial farming presents additional challenges that cannot always be replicated in small-plot research.
Every farm is different. Variations in soil type, rainfall, nutrition programs, crop rotations, machinery, sowing practices and seasonal conditions all influence crop performance. By working directly with growers, we can evaluate how our technologies perform across a wide range of real-world production systems and gain valuable insights into the factors that drive consistent performance.
This approach provides confidence that Crommelin AgriCoatings products are practical, scalable and capable of delivering benefits across Australia’s diverse grain-growing environments.

Working Alongside Growers
Our farm-scale trial program is built on collaboration. Participating growers work closely with the Crommelin AgriCoatings technical team to establish side-by-side comparisons using their normal farming operations. This ensures products are evaluated under genuine commercial conditions without disrupting existing management practices.
Throughout the season we monitor key performance indicators including crop establishment and emergence, early vigour and root development, plant health and resilience, biomass production, grain yield, grain quality, ease of handling at sowing, and operational compatibility with existing farming systems.
Learning From Growers
One of the greatest strengths of our farm-scale program is the opportunity to learn directly from the people who use our products. Growers experience unique challenges every season, from difficult sowing conditions and nutrient constraints to soil variability and environmental stress. By working together, we gain valuable insights into the biggest production constraints affecting growers, operational challenges during sowing, opportunities to simplify product use, desired improvements in product performance, and emerging issues that require innovative solutions.
This feedback plays a critical role in shaping the next generation of Crommelin AgriCoatings technologies.
Rather than simply testing products, we use every trial as an opportunity to improve them.

Building Products Farmers Need And Trust.
Successful agricultural innovation requires products that are scientifically proven, commercially practical and developed with growers, not just for growers. By combining independent scientific evidence with large-scale commercial validation and continuous grower feedback, we are developing fertiliser coating technologies that deliver practical solutions for Australian agriculture today while addressing the challenges of tomorrow. Because the best innovations are built in partnership with the people who use them.
